yesterday
i had a wonderful time watching Magic of Love, and it was kinda brave for priscilla to sorta share about what happened to her, something scandalous. but everything was fine, that she's a single mother, and even her son appeared on the show. heck, i think she's a better role model for the young than eunice olsen, but unfortunately, in this place where blue-bloodedness is so much more highly prized than the normal bloodedness, her story isn't going to receive nodding expressions among the ruling elite class. but what the heck, all those blue bloods aren't going to admit that their children are doing the exact same thing, and go to great lengths to ensure that these things don't appear in public. but what the heck, this is reality reality, and priscilla deserves credit for coming out like that.
class? you mean singapore is not a egalitarian society? haha. of course . duh. everyone knows but doesn't want to say so. i say, we are all fooling ourselves in dreaming that singapore is such a beautiful place. OF COURSE NOT. but of course, this is what we tell the foreigners who stay less than a month here. BUT OF COURSE, neil humphreys would know, if he indeed did bother to go around exploring the cracks and crevices here, which i hope he really did.
and what singapore dream? the taxi driver who scrimps and saves so his son can go to university? the romance of this kind of stories appeal to us, because it speaks of so much sacrifice. but what does the son do? hopefully he doesn't become a scum at the end of his life. but anyway, i wonder, if these stories are becoming more rare...
i guess more or less, i live in a stupid place, more than anything else.
