had a crazy day, all for just 2 magazines! 25th dec 2006
christmas. oh well. some things i felt just had to be done, and my restless impulsive heart thus dictated my actions today. i try to find the TME The year in review 'review' at 5 places. i tried raffles city, only to find that mph is no longer there, then the mph at citilink, then times at suntec, all to no avail. so i dashed to orchard, at borders and then to taka, where i took an alternative route to avoid the crowds and the not-so-suffocating-but-all-too-uncomfortable security presence. but NO! and the only place left, PageOne at Vivo. so i found it, and then it was the economist at mph citilink, the special double issue. abd the total time taken... 3 hrs. sigh. and i'm super tired.
christmas... i've heard people lamenting and basically moralising preaching the consumerist and materialist commercialising of christmas. haiyo, what do you expect, in a place where so few people are officially christians? haiyo, young people, seriously, don't think much about the future, so its just having fun and enjoy life, and leave the serious thinking till later. they feel comfortable now, and they see nothing wrong, so what's the problem?
i had a meeting with some political thinkers lately. and wow. their involvement and their passion is genuine, and they seriously want to change the status quo, one way or another. as they, every proposal to change certain aspect of society ultimately becomes political. arh well. and all the laments about pap and the sorry state of singapore society comes out. oh well. things gotta change, but i don't know how. so how, brow cow? just keep thinking and writing lorh, the only stupid things i know how to do.
and i've come to realise that what constitutes and constructs human society are ultimately just 2 things. 1. natural selection, 2. game theory.
ooh, and i gotta finish writing the season greetings for manta ray and xilver!!
happy christmas and blessed new year.
