literary stuff

sometimes i do a bit of mental exercise and do a bit of extra writing...

A group of young people - 5 of them, are throwing frisbee by the beach. They don't throw very well, and the frisbee keeps dropping into the sea. An amused passer-by looks at them, and wonders what was so fun about throwing the disc around. He hears the laughter, sees the sand that flys off the frisbee as it spins. There's a tall guy who throws alright, a stocky guy who throws weird throws.

Another guy joins them, wearing a white polo t-shirt. He's handsome, and three more girls, all pretty, not quite proficient with the disc, but still having fun. One of them lays on the mat, having played a bit, but got tired. Another girl, wearing a red sleeveless shirt, and another girl, wearing a brown sleeveless shirt. They were playing frisbee but now they lay on mats, sunbathing, the light rays washing over their bare, fair skins. The iPod lies in its speaker-cradle, from where soft rock complements the mood of sunbathing.

The tall guy sits on a rock, writing, the other two guys off to explore the beach with their cameras. He has taken off his shirt, and reveals his sunburnt shoulders and the outlines of his shirt. He should have applied sunblock, but he doesn't care.

It's June 2009, and I'm the tall guy sitting on the stone, writing on the beach. It's a splendid June day, with nothing but fun right now.
