14th feb 2007

today's just another day, except that i saw plenty of couples with roses, girls and guys dressing nearly to kill, but other than that, it ain't such a big deal.

had a great day at CITI, with charles sharing with me how much he struggled coming to 30sce as a man, about his longing to be a commander/leader. well, he's pretty much a natural leader, and i don't think you need OCS/SISPEC to be a leader. c'mon, maybe NS commanders are a little overrated, hey, even my cell leader was 'merely' a pes c soldier, so whats the big deal?

anyway, a little figment of thought.

God's love never fails, but human love might fail sometimes.

The hand holds a rose,
a symbol of Eros,
of a pining for affection,
of wanting that special someone.

Sweet chocolate fills the mouth,
longing for sweetness ever after,
of fickle love in the spring of youth,
-love- the world being thrown everywhere.

So people pine for what they think they need,
a sweet something they don't really know.
It might be lust, for all they know,
a futile attraction, bearing no fruit,
just a fling, just wanting to know,
how false love feels.

So on and on,
all the facades,
of sweet love ever after.
What happens when the rose wilts,
when the chocolate is sweet no more?
All a false love,
an emptiness never filled.

Being secure in the Lord's love - that's what matters.
