the first week of school winds down

I think I didn't have a normal week this week. On monday, I lost my transponder on the cab to school - the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL, and i discovered that the internet had to be configured at the hostel. But luckily samantha told me about it. Kepy meeting with close and good friends, and then met somemore friends. But tuesday, the Internet was ready. On wednesday, meeting with friends again, and then going to christian fellowship, and having an amazing time back.

Did running on wednesday, on a route full of up-slopes and down-slopes, and i felt that represented something, like the ups and downs of things and events that will happen and unfold, kinda prophetic. then later on in the evening, i went through this up-slope and stairs that was completely dark, and becoming lost, and finding my way, from PGP to medicine - trains the quads! but the physical component wasn't all that important. it was about the spiritual and psychological and emotional experience. life in NUS won't be easy. it will be uphill most times, and things go downhill but not necessarily better - it might just mean a loss of control. it is often too easy to feel like giving up, but it is only after these experiences that you know yourself better - who you are, the spirit that's inside of you.

Warrior. What does a warrior do? A warrior fights - to protect. If a warrior doesn't fight, then what for the name warrior?

Musings.

Had an impactful tuesday. Greek is a useful thing to learn. Instructor spent two hours going through the meaning of the word "scholar", "politics", "rhetoric", and the associations of the word "green".

Rhetoric - persuasion - majority - direct democracy - decision - polis - politics - republic (res publica)... how everything ties together.

"Scholar" - why USP, what scholar does, why they do what they do, evidence for, evidence against, search for evidence, alternative, judgment...

an impactful class. and this is why i'm in USP. because i have a passion to learn, to find out the meaning of things... oh well. that's just one out of many..Technorati Tags: , , , , ,
