An Epiphany of sorts

Recent struggles in life have indicated to me this fact:

1. That Singapore and the various social institutions took on a paternalist view on the people under their charge. This means that NUS does not trust students to do things responsibly; and translated to as such to wider society - Singapore government and politics basically don't trust their citizens to act responsibly or intelligently.

2. The question to ask then is: why?

- We have no political education, or rather that in the education process, students (citizens-to-be) are not asked at all to discuss what it means to be a citizen.

- The political discussion that presents itself during adulthood becomes then the arguments on ad hominem and reasonable dialogue.

3. What then, is to be done?
